From Then to Now

1974

Lewer Canada is established when Mike Lewer opens Lewer Companies’ first
office in Toronto, Canada. The company serves as an employee benefits broker,
serving petroleum companies.

1978-2020

Lewer builds strong roots across Canada, developing an understanding of the different needs and challenges in each of the country’s provinces. Over the years, Lewer Canada moves its headquarters to Calgary, Alberta and then Mississauga, Ontario to stay close to key partners.

2020

Lewer Canada moves its headquarters to Laval, Quebec.

2022-2023

In July 2022, Mike and his son Nik Lewer team up with Robin Ingle, who specializes in student insurance, to enter the international student market in Canada. Ingle Lewer is formed as a division of Lewer Canada. This partnership brings nearly a century of combined experience toward building a fresh, student-focused approach to the health and wellness of international students.

2024

Ingle Lewer officially launches, onboarding their first clients including Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools and Ottawa-Carleton Education Network.

2025

Lewer Canada officially transitions to completely focus on international students via Ingle Lewer. The company creates health insurance and wellness programs that lead the industry. This transformative year includes several key highlights:

• The Administrative Portal for client schools launches.
• The anonymous mental health peer-to-peer platform expands to support
• homestay families.
• Phase 2 of True North and Global Eyes integration is completed.
• Legaroo legal services are added to create a truly holistic offering.
• Pillway program expands to homestay families through “family model”.
